An inspiring story of a youth participant of Impact360 employment oriented professional skill program
Sayeem Ata, a 26-year-old young man from a low-income family in Kolkata, lives in a rented house with his parents and younger brother. Despite financial challenges, his family always valued education and personal growth. His father runs a small tailoring shop, earning approximately ₹7,000 per month, while his mother is a homemaker. His younger brother is currently pursuing Accountancy studies.
After completing his Master’s degree in Persian, Sayeem managed a small mobile retail shop to support his family. Alongside his business, he continuously explored learning opportunities through online platforms and developed a keen interest in technology. He independently learned HTML, JavaScript, and other technical skills and was simultaneously studying Advanced DITA while pursuing his postgraduate degree.
When Sayeem learned through his community about the Digital Marketing course offered by Impact360 Foundation, he immediately enrolled. His existing interest in web design, content creation, and digital technologies motivated him to make the most of the opportunity.
During the training, Sayeem gained practical knowledge in Content writing, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Social Media Marketing, Online Advertising, and other key aspects of digital marketing. In addition to technical skills, he also participated in Soft Skills and Communication training sessions, where he learned workplace etiquette, interview preparation techniques, professional communication, and the qualities required to succeed in a modern work environment.
Equipped with new skills and confidence, Sayeem appeared for placement interviews and successfully secured a position as an LM Spoke Associate with Amazon in Kolkata.In his role, Sayeem has been able to utilize his digital knowledge in areas such as content preparation, web-related tasks, and operational execution within the warehouse environment. His employment has significantly improved his family’s financial condition. Today, he earns approximately ₹28,000 per month, increasing the family’s total monthly income to around ₹35,000.
The additional income has enabled the family to enjoy a more stable and comfortable lifestyle while supporting his brother’s education and contributing to household expenses, thus breaking out of the cycle of poverty.
Looking ahead, Sayeem remains committed to continuous learning. He aspires to further strengthen his technological expertise, acquire advanced digital skills, and pursue greater career opportunities in the technology sector.
Sayeem’s journey demonstrates how access to quality skill development training, combined with determination and a passion for learning, can create meaningful pathways to employment and economic empowerment.
