In his present capacity, Surya Banda serves as a Consultant – Research at Impact 360 Foundation, channeling his extensive 6-year experience as a social impact professional. His role revolves around data-driven decision-making and collaborative efforts with a diverse range of stakeholders, spanning Multilateral Institutions, Governments, Corporates, NGOs, Impact Investors, and Social Enterprises.

Formerly, as a Senior Policy Associate at J-PAL South Asia, Surya played a pivotal role in the expansion of the Targeting the Hardcore Poor (THP) program, closely collaborating with state governments in Rajasthan, Bihar, and Jharkhand. His impact extended to offering support to distinguished researchers, including Nobel Laureates Abhijit Banerjee, Esther Duflo, and Karthik Muralidharan, in conducting Randomized Evaluations of government programs.

Surya’s educational journey, culminating in a degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from VNR VJIET, Hyderabad, and a Micro masters certification in Data, Economics, and Development Policy from MIT, USA, further underscores his expertise. Notably, his CITI certification reinforces his competence in human subjects research.
